Bulgaria attends Slow Wine Fair 2024

From 25 to 27 February 2024 in Bologna, the third exhibition Slow WineBulgaria had tangible participation, organized by the Bulgarian Association of Wine Professionals (BAWP) and supported by Mastercard.

Over 800 exhibitors representing all Italian regions and 27 countries from five continents and over 5,000 labels welcomed enthusiasts, traders and professionals from the wine world. Bulgaria took its worthy place with a professional presentation of 6 wineries: Ahinora, Bratanov, Via Antica, Villa Katina, Tipchnitza and Tsarev Brod. Together with BAWP, they successfully presented their wines to a selected audience, participated in numerous meetings and discussions, and introduced connoisseurs and professionals to their vision for the development of wine Bulgaria, emphasizing the importance of wine as culture and as an authentic and uncompromising reflection of the place of origin.

Тhe exhibition was the third meeting of the Slow Wine Coalition, an inclusive international network that brings together winemakers committed to sustainability, conservation, and social and cultural development in rural areas. This network's focus is wine as a product that goes far beyond the liquid in the glass and whose production affects areas of strategic importance for the future of food.

This is the second Bulgarian participation after 2022. Still, it is the first time our country has participated in the Slow Wine format so united and focused, and the reactions and comments of those who visited the stands of Bulgarian wines can only testify to the right direction and the meaning of such participation on the international stage. A clear statement has been made for Bulgarian wine to appear in a new light, and this united participation is just the beginning of a long road to proving our country's potential in terms of wine.

Slow Wine for Bulgarian wine was made possible thanks to the initiative and enthusiasm of the members of BAWP and the unprecedented support of the Mastercard, who stand behind the efforts to improve the quality, sustainability and global recognition of the Bulgarian wine sector.
